The published unlock list
Research moves year by year. The developer lists the unlocks in this order: tablets, smartwatches, earbuds, foldables, and laptops. Phones are the company you design from the garage. They are not described as a later unlock.
The listing does not say whether that order is forced, or what each year costs. Do not treat the sentence as a priced tech tree. It is the list of devices the studio named.
| Device | How you reach it | Planning note |
|---|---|---|
| Phones | Starting company | Launch one before you fund a second line |
| Tablets | Year-by-year research | First device the developer names after phones |
| Smartwatches | Year-by-year research | Next name in the same sentence |
| Earbuds | Year-by-year research | Still a research unlock, not a garage starter |
| Foldables | Year-by-year research | Later in the published list |
| Laptops | Year-by-year research | Last name in the published list |
How to spend research attention
Keep the phone cycle earning while a research year runs. A new device still needs a design, a price, a team handoff, and a marketing launch. Opening five lines with no reviews is not described as faster.
Passes that name research or speed
Triple Research is 99 Robux. Lab Grant is 79 Robux. Hyper Speed is 49 Robux. The store rows show names and prices, not a description of the multiplier, the lab reward, or what Hyper Speed accelerates. The only safe reading is that research and speed are systems the studio is willing to sell shortcuts for. Test the free research path before you buy one.
